What did you delete there, @elver?
I want to be mad I couldn’t put it up for myself, but you knew what I was looking for.
Not sure I need it, but that want going to stop me from unsuccessfully putting one.
This is my weakness… the trying not to mess up. I’m better at making things better than not making things worse. So I might just stay in my room this week.
I’ll lock out my speaker and trampoline.
It’s just that excitement in your voice though.
About the eating… we’re doing a stomach virus in my house this week. Just to mix it up a little. I got it last night (vomit only— thank you, universe) and had like a near death experience. I haven’t left my bed or eaten anything today. It’s been pretty much since yesterday around 6 maybe that I’ve had something to eat. I’m glad to have gotten it already since I was worried I’d get it next Friday, but it’s shaking up the food plans for this week. Any thoughts? I imagine I’m going to be really, really hungry at some point.
We get the G2 Gatorade for sick days.
It is not a food substitute of course but helps to keep pounding the liquids and has some carbs but not too many.
The 20 ounce G2 bottle has about 12 carbs?
I hope you feel better soon.
speedy recovery…
Like T said, it’s important to stay hydrated and G2 is great for that.
If you were not sick, the lack of food would not be critical until Wednesday. After that it becomes an issue.
If you are not totally over it by Wednesday we will need to reassess. There are plenty of half’s, we could get you back on track for a different one in a few weeks if we have to.
In the meantime, sleep and please drink plenty. All the time, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Drink, pee, and sleep. That’s all you should do for the next few days. And also eat little bits if you can hold it down.
Let me know how you are feeling. I will adjust your schedule for the week depending on how you are doing. Let’s hope for 100% by Wednesday. That’s kind of the cutoff for go / no go.
You are not sunk right now, just sleep and let’s see how you bounce back.
I could try this. The only thing I could do last night was try a Gatorade Prime… and that came close to ruining my ability to even say Gatorade for the rest of my life. Tomorrow I’ll get some if I’m still not better. I better not need it tomorrow.
Nope. Today’s Sunday. And I’m through the worst. I’m gonna be good to go by next Saturday.
Yeah, I’ve got that part down.
But not those parts. I’ll work on it.
They don’t call me the bounce back kid for nuthin.
Sounds good. Lemme know how you are on Monday.
Monday is a rest day no matter what.
And then we will take a look at Tuesday when it gets here.
We called those “rock’em sock’em” or punching bags, lol.
Didn’t feel that way when I was writing the comment, but after yesterday, punching bag kind of feels spot on.
Hope your felling better!
So I rested Monday until life demanded I get up, and then I got up. Big, stressful evening with ER drama (not my own— but that can be worse when it’s your kid’s), and then a crappy night sleep. Good thing I had a lot of sleep going in this morning, so I kind of woke up feeling like I’d broken even. And am ready for a run. Please.
I didn’t eat much yesterday (except for the pound a half of carrots I ate last night at midnight because stress is ridiculous), but I’m 2 coffees up this morning… so that’s kind of like food.
Tuesday’s here. That’s what I came to say. Can we talk about a run?
Thank you, @T1john!! I’m up and ready to get moving. How are you feeling?? And I heard you were getting a beltclip replacement?? I hope it hasn’t fallen through?
Yes, but talk to me first.
Finished, and the short version is it went great.
But I’ll be back to deliver the long version.
Dude. I am sorry about your week. I hope you are well and that your eyeballs are not yellow because you ate a bushel of carrots. I hope your kiddo is well. I’m glad you’re running again.
I saw these once in Norway years ago. It struck me as funny. I’m imagining you sitting in the middle of them gnawing your way thru.
Did 2 mi @ 9:30 pace on the treadmill today. As instructed, thank you. And it was good. I didn’t plan a thing since we talked just a few minutes before I went over, but I probably had about 15 min of a Basal-IQ suspend. I tested at a 65 so I had a banana and waited a few minutes before starting and left the basal running.
Pre-run: 65
1/4 mi: 65 (tested just to be sure)
Mi 1: 65
Mi 2: 65
Going to play the lottery.
More importantly, I felt really good though a little drained towards the end. And even more importantly… I ran with NO pain. Nothing. Started with no pain. Finished with no pain. How!!! Everything was 100% clean, and that has not been the case.
I know you’ve asked about stretching and core exercises, and I told you I’ve faded a little with them, but today, short as it was, was an excellent reminder of why I was doing them. Would like to regroup after the race and try to get back on track again with this.
