Yes, I knew this was a common landing spot for TuD emigrants, but took a break from these forums after leaving. As always though, returning for the wealth of knowledge in the community!

I have started taking a picture of either the flap or the sensor housing with the 4-digit code and the SN prior to each insertion. If my sensor lasts for the 10+ days, I just delete the picture.

what pump do you use? I am going off the omnipod, as they are now requiring 24/7 cell or wifi contact, and they do not integrate well with the Dexcom, often loosing contact, when the Dexcom direct contact is working. Thank you

I just got an Anubis, I will start using it within about a week. If it goes as planned I will be set to continue to use my G6 sensors for quite a while! Fingers crossed!! Anyone else ever try it?

The big deal with the O5 is that it works without either, though I believe Tandem now have pumps that do the same. It’s important; we’re not some kind of automaton that should be bound to the net, or the 'phone, to function. So the O5, Tandem (is it the mobi?) and other similar devices need to just work with Dexcom/Abbott/EverSense and with absolutely nothing else.
So what have they done to require a cell or wifi contact (as opposed to the bluetooth contact to communicate directly between the two devices)?

@returnmember I hesitate to respond because I don’t want to seemingly disrespect you or be unnecessarily contrary. FUD is full of contrary approaches based on YDMV and different beliefs, its one of the things I like about it: willingness to share information and approaches. But I find the statement regarding a wifi/cell requirement incredibly hard to believe. How would people travel? Go for a car ride? Take a cruise? Use the product in a 3rd world or remote location where cell/wifi doesn’t exist or isn’t accessible? I trust you meant otherwise, but the statement seems fairly categorical. If you have some evidence, please give us a link; if its your personal experience, say that. However, I’ve done a search of Insulet’s website and found no indication of the wifi/cell statement. I’ve done a Google search and not found it. I personally use Dash pods with G7, plan to transition to O5’s once my AID will support them (soon), know many using O5 and G6s or G7s with no indication of the problems stated. Yes, some experience connectivity issues with G6 and G7, usually related to having devices on alternate sides of the body (presumable interference with transmission); but its usually intermittent or temporary, albeit repeatable, but solutions exist. I appreciate the discussion of your perspective and reasons, I’d just appreciate some additional information to understand the circumstances and statements.

I do not believe this is correct. Until recently we had very poor wifi and broadband coverage here, and my son would never get it to work if that were correct. Possibly you are misinformed?
