I actually still run 6 zones/day. Everything starts with your basal setting, and for that you need to do at home basal testing. One of the members here did a great writeup in how to conduct a self basal test and determine your actual needs. I started with Daytime needs, then Evening/Dinner time basal needs, then overnight, then AM/Breakfast/Midmorning. You have to fast which is a big bummer but the payoff is worth it.
When I finally got a nutritionist appointment, they started off slightly agro about my settings and how I determined them without a nutritionist’s help. Once I illustrated the process and showed the data behind the results, there wasn’t much to say other than small suggestions.
Also on the forum here @TiaG has a discussion about Samson that might be interesting for you as well. The main subject is about Looping but without proper Basal settings Loop has a harder time staying in Auto as I understand it (and I could be wrong)
I got a few boxes of these syringes from my supplier at the end of December and they are definitely of worse quality than the boxes I had in storage. I had a couple that the plastic on the syringe (under the cap) was not cut properly, so it was really hard to uncap and recap the needles. The plungers are harder to push too, which is a problem for me since I fill them to like 10 units and then use a little at a time, so I try to get really precise dosing.
For those that don’t want to deal with the Rx issues, go to your local Walmart and purchase either the Relion or occasionally they have other brands available OTC. They will sell them in bags of 10 and boxes of 100.
