Let’s see what the actual guidelines state. There is a lot in that article that raises my hackles but I suspect that is more a criticism of the author than the authorities.
My immediate response of course is that blood ketone measurements are readily available over-the-counter and should be an essential part of diagnosis.
BG of course, speaking as a T1D and a scientist, always sucks. I can do a Big Mac and hit 500; no chance of DKA because I have a matching amount of insulin chasing my donkey. Certain low.
We shall wait and we shall be disappointed but maybe things will get better.
