Some BG data
It took me a while to get the whole day graphed out. There is a lot of data in here and it is tough to get it all in a readable format. (Doing just the Marathon graph was easy, but it was challenging to put the entire day on a graph with all the details and to make it readable!)
Each race is colored differently to make it easy to see them.
One interesting observation is that I have a BG rise after each race completes. This is understandable from the perspective of me trying to refuel after each race but also trying to reduce the amount of IOB I would have for the next race.
So the goals are - eat as much as possible without getting stuffed, but also try to not have a ton of IOB. Because of that, you can see a small spike after each race.
It is also common that I see a rise after races, because while running the GI function is less of a priority than the working muscles, so carb absorption is somewhat down-regulated while running. As soon as I finish, the body processes a lot of the remaining carbs that were consumed while running.
So these two factors can be seen with a slight BG rise after every race. It was very interesting to see it graphically.
The other easily noticeable thing is that I drop after every race starts. This is not a bad thing to me! I call this a āfueling opportunityā.
It was cool to look back at the day and see that several times I took carbs or boluses without a BG check! The Force was working well that day.
Really the only crappy one was the 8k, where I plummeted. All the other ones felt good. For the entire day, I think I had only about 34 minutes total where I was above 140. The only crappy low was during the 8k.
(Only 2 crappy tests during the day, 168 and 37. The others were all reasonable to me.)
Total carbs for the day was 755 (if I added it all correctly).
Anyway, here is the graph. The BG range I am using is 60 to 110.
EDIT:
I donāt usually track steps, but just for laughs, I got a copy of my step total for the day. I was hoping I could roll over the āodometerā, but I ended up a little short of 100,000.
