I have used Novolog and the PI states in the U.S. version:

I have no insurance so I use the Canadian NovoRapid. The PI states this:
NovoRapid will start to lower your blood sugar 10-20 minutes after you take it. It has maximum effect between 1 and 3 hours and the effects lasts for 3-5 hours.
My experience is that I don’t really see a decrease in bg till about 1 hour after injection if I am high and am taking a correction dose.
