Sanofi, Lilly, Novo face RICO charges over insulin pricing

Also OptumRx, Caremark and Express Scripts

This helps explain why insulin got so expensive.
“The RICO claims stand for now, given the plantiff’s compelling case that the drugmakers may have engaged in bribery, plus mail and wire fraud.”

Wow! I wonder what the result will be? Lower prices, I hope.

Check back in 2030 when a slap on the hand and a settlement is reached.

If they have a whisteblower or two with evidence than this one won’t take too long to reach its conclusion. The interesting thing here is if they prove their claims the damages could be huge. Probably will get settled for a couple hundred million in fines, which is a gnat slap to these drug giants.

New, but possibly related (alleging collusion), class action lawsuit:

Hopefully they do both, but if they are successful, the latter is assured. Sorry to be so pessimistic.
