It’s designed that way, to give it a bit more flexibility to move with your body. Or so I’ve been told. The adhesive on your skin is flexible, whereas the pod obviously isn’t. If the whole base of the pod were stuck to your skin, it wouldn’t have as much give, and (a) you’d feel the pod’s presence more often, and (b) there’d be a greater risk of dislodging the cannula if you moved or stretched in certain ways.

It looks worse than it is. There’s about 1/4 inch unattached down each long side, but there’s still a good 3/4 inch of pod stuck to the adhesive down the middle. And if you try to pull the adhesive off a used pod, you’ll realize how securely they’re joined.

Good :+1: to know! I don’t seem to have this problem when I use my lower back, hip. I think k that’s because that area of my body is curved upward to prevent the pod weight from separating from the adhesive. I’ll have to remember to place the pod vertical on my abdomen though!!
