Needle swap

Well I’m off to the needle exchange. Maybe I’ll meet some cool and nice people!

Ugh, I can’t stand the 4mm ones. Hopefully you are swapping them for 8mm’s, 10mm’s, or 12.7mm’s.

They seem to work well for me

Outside of a very small group of people, this conversation would be considered wildly inappropriate. Isn’t diabetes grand!

What actually happens at a needle swap?

Well, typically, heroin addicts bring in their used needles and are given sterile ones to prevent them from swapping and sharing with their friends.

It’s also a quite a social event.

I suppose heroin addicts are shooting up with heroin pens nowadays?

Seeing how potent the scourge of phentanyl is, they probably would be doing better if they used pens with exact dosing…

Ideally they’d have a pump in case they have variable needs

One of those dual chambered pumps with Naloxone in the other chamber?

Diabetics in prison usually trade their needles for whatever they want. They just have to break it off before returning the syringe to the nurse. Once someone is able to get a needle, they can make a “binky” to inject heroin with. All you need is a Bic pen, a Visine bottle, a syringe needle, and a lighter.

Can do the same thing with insulin.

Is that experience talking? Lol
