FreeStyle Libre experiences

Not sure about what you mean by ISF data, but there is no BG data continuously collected with the base model, unless it is facing the sensor at a short distance.

Yes. Without the waving, there is no reading :frowning:

Well: it is not so much the waving as the distance. If it is within the right distance, it will collect the data.

I mean BG data (although, let’s face it, Dexcom, Libre I think are all measuring the interstitial fluid, not the true BG).

With the Dexcom, the sensor transmitter needed to be nearby.

Ah,now I understand  I thought you meant ISF as Insulin Sensitivity Factor: I was confused…

You are right  The Libre spec is that the reader should be less than 4 cm away from the sensor when reading: https://www.freestyle.abbott/ca/en/products/libre/faqs.html

One thing i like about the FSL is that i can scan it right through layers of clothing and still get a good reading. dont know how it actually does this, but it does and its convienient. I keep it next to me while i sleep. i like that it doesnt have alarms the way that the dex does. i set my alarm clock next to me every night so that i wake up for intervals to do finger sticks. i know this may sound horride to many of you, but it works for me, and i dont mind the 30 seconds it takes me to wake up, test, and then go back to sleep. This way, i wake up in the morning for bfast with few suprizes. Phew.
