Diagnosed as type 2 in June of 2020. Am about 60yrs old and black male.
Suspected diabetes probably for about a year before actually doing something about it, thus out of fear of reality my A1C was 16 … off the charts.
None the less… as of Feb, my A1C is down to 5 with metformin and some diet control. Didn’t care for the finger prick thus I opted $75/mth to use FreeStyle monitor to help guide me with managing the conditions. Losing weight was the hardest but was prescribed Rybelsus which reduced sugar cravings and dropped my weight by about 30lbs.
