I am a 75yo woman, diagnosed at age 43 in 1993. My pancreas stopped working altogether, so I am an adult-onset type1. Started pumping in 200-2001 and haven’t looked back. So much better than injecting 4-6 times or more per day! Currently, I’m still pumping with the MM 708, and a Dexcom G7.
Since I am now 10 years into Medicare, I had been getting my insulin at NO cost through Medicare Part B (durable medical equipment). Seems the government changed things by making insulin “more affordable”- which is good, but apparently Medicare took away the DME option for pump insulin - and now it costs me $35 per month. Still dealing with this. MC never gives me a direct answer.
And they want us seniors to reduce our stress! Ha!
Anyway, as a former TuDiabetes lurker, I’m glad to find FUDiabetes!
