Diagnosed as T2 in 2007 when I consulted a urologist about pain in my kidneys.
Metformin/diet therapy originally.
Severe cardiac issues in 2013-2014
Added Januvia to therapy in 2015
Added Lantus to therapy in 2016
Added 2X daily Lantus therapy in 2017
Switched to Lantus/Basaglar and Novolog/Admelog/Humalog with no oral meds in March of 2018, and joined FUDiabetes
I guess officially makes me an insulin dependent Type 2?
Self funded the US 10 day Libre Freestyle using Glimp to calibrate the readings for a high degree of accuracy.
Ditched using the Libre when everyone was forced onto the 14 day sensors, which couldn’t be used with Glimp, no calibration option made them WILDLY inaccurate and not worth self funding.
Started weekly GLP-1 (Ozempic/Trulicity) mid-November 2018
Starting the first week of April 2021 I’ve been approved for the t:slim X2 (Control-IQ) with Dexcom G6 cgm, in the hopes of getting my A1C levels down below 7 and keeping them there.
With my massive daily insulin requirements and high carb sensitivity factor I might just become someone’s published “test case” if this actually works!
