DiabettySince69

Discovered Type 1 at the age of 2. I still remember Mom having to boil glass syringes and using reactive tablets in urine in small test tube! I discovered quickly (?) how to fake the urine readings by simply eliminating the urine and therefore getting snacks when I NEVER should have !
I was made aware of my mortality early, and when informed of the complications of bad control… I decided to go with that! Never gave a F*#K about control, and lived my life like each day could be my last.
Now 57 and waiting for the repercussions to begin…:face_with_diagonal_mouth:
Still in great shape. Still have all of my appendages, and at least 1 functioning (:expressionless:) brain cell… occasionally.
I am blessed to have a Tandem Tslim X2 insulin pump which does a WAY better job controlling my blood sugar (with Dexcom G7) than I EVER could. I guess it’s as close to a artificial pancreas as the ADA, and pharmaceutical industry will allow, 'cause we all (SHOULD) know by now that cures are not financially feasible.
If it wasn’t for my love of GREAT ice cream (and other delicious foods), I would experiment with attempting to REBOOT my pancreas,as a study with mice, said was possible.
I sincerely apologize to any Type 1’s who did as they were supposed to and might have different results… but I caint ( nor WOULD) change MY choices .
I will end my rhetoric now, as my lonely brain cell needs a nap.
