are you kidding me? i just bought a new pack of 10 last week. whatever will i do? and, beyond that, why would they discontinue anti-bacterial soap?

https://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm517478.htm

This was all over the news at the time. Basically fda asked for additional research to proves that the “antibacterial” indgredients were safe and effective as advertised and manufacturers were unable to pony any up…

I’m not entirely sure what came of it though too because I still see them in stores too, don’t know if that’s just all old stock or what…

ETA—- looks like some manufactures just switched to different indgredients, and still claim to be antibacterial, and the fda is after them again to prove safety and effectiveness…

Ha… ivory smells the best!i hate how fast the bars fall apart though… and it’s dried my skin out a little, not too bad.

I installed a tile shower at my house a couple years ago… replacing a fiberglass insert. So I was doing some research on how to keep tile clean and I read that liquid “body wash” soap doesn’t leave soap scum… sounded too good to be true, so I tried it—- it actually works! If you use liquid soap your shower only needs a fraction of the cleaning it does with bar soap… I don’t think liquid works as well though…

can you come and redo the tiles in my kitchen?

Starting the 30 day test of the Freestyle Libre vs. Dexcom G5. Giving them the ice hockey buckets of sweat test tonight and heading to Kauai Saturday for the 20 day salt water durability test…can’t wait !!

Decided that Unlimited means I can go ahead and adhere the Freestyle sensor with SkinTac under the perimeter and cover it with Opsite. And grooving on the optimistic idea that maybe my rinky dink insurer will provide decent coverage for this and save me big bucks compared to Dexcom and hundreds of strips pre month.

Coming around to the idea the Unlimited means I don’t need alarms…as long as this thing works OK.

I second that! And thanks for the gun show!

I’m very curious to hear how they compare! Just an FYI - I took my first Libre sensor off last night, and the adhesive was SO strong, I had to get my husband to help me pull it off, and it damaged my skin. I’m going to try more gentle removal (loosening gradually with coconut oil or rubbing alcohol…or both) next time.

You could use a medical adhesive remover swipe. That is what we use for the Dexcom sensors: much easier than alcohol for us.

@John58 If you find you do need those pesky alarms because you have better things to do besides scanning your arm, you can use a Blucon and xDrip+ to make that hocky puck a real CGM.

Can you put together a tutorial on how to do that? I’m falling so far behind the curve with all the tech gadgetry…

Looks like it can work with iOS too… nightrider reusable transmitter available now for $110— battery user replaceable!

and the other smaller thinner disposable transmitter available soon I guess? Those look like they’ll be $50 ea and last 10 days… makes it kinda hard to justify but maybe for very small people the ultra small transmitter would be worth every penny? I truly can’t stand the Dexcom transmitter…

Looks very intriguing!

Thanks for the heads up! I’m looking at all the options…step 1 is see if the Libre sensor survives my lifestyle for 10 days. Watch for more photos after the ocean water testing.

Ha, I’m such a newbie - didn’t even know there was such a thing! Thanks for the tip!

I think the disposable one is waterproof, and the permanent one isn’t, accoridng to what I read. So for swimmers, the disposable one may be worth price (though personally I’d just use the permanent one and take it off while swimming/showering).
