# These marine snails kill with super-fast insulin!

They poison their victims with insulin that induces quasi-immediate diabetic coma:

It would be really cool to keep one of these as a pet, and then just poke it to quickly correct a high. The part about “up to 200 different compunds” seems a bit dangerous though. There could be some side-effects 😄
Seriously though, how much of the delay could we cut with something like this? I thought the insulin we use works really fast once it’s in the bloodstream, and that most of the delay was due to subcutaneous injection. Am I mistaken?
