# Surprising finding on medical research: #1 medical killer gets 1% of funds

I was quite interested and surprised by this finding by Blomberg Philantropies: since shortly after WW2, the biggest medical killer among low- and middle-income countries has been the set of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), such as the big D, with 67% of deaths in 2015. But the NCDs only gather 1% of medical research investment:

Wow, didn’t think it was that bad, but it definitely isn’t sexy. And sexy usually gets the money. Sad really.
