I have used Dexcom essentially since the company started. It has consistently been a great product until last year. I had 2 issues: “looping” in that the problem was that I didn’t know if sensor would work and the G7 15 day sensor that never lasted 15 days for me and started getting wonky around 10 days. Given that I switched back to 10 day sensor.

At my last endo appointment, I got a FreeStyle Libre Plus 15 days sensor to try. Even though it’s only a one time trial, I liked it. It’s smaller, there’s no over patch like Dexcom and stayed on 15 days AND most importantly it lasted the full 15 days with no glitches. Both Dexcom and FreeStyle are accurate and behaved similarly for me.

My question is if anyone has used Dexcom and switched to FreeStyle or vice versa? If so, what were pros cons? Even though I hate change after so many years with a familiar product, I am thinking of switching to FreeStyle next year. I wanted any input you may have with these CGMs. I don’t wear a pump, but I may try the Tandem tubeless when that’s launched. Thanks.
