ROFL, that is too funny. The Hollywood version is actually a bit more correct but not pg when it shows the offer being made not by Big Pharma but a beefy guy named Big Parma (you get it? Parma as in prosciutto, ham?) at the harbor and the guy got a baseball cap, $200 and a concrete block tied to his ankles.

> So, I went to diabetes camp and heard from two endos who prescribed some of their patients Affrezza – they said previously they’d heard rave reviews from one of the counselors there. They said the few patients they prescribed it to stopped using it because it was really frustrating. My guess is that they were trying to “guess” which patients might do well on it and those were patients who were struggling with things like prebolusing, carb-counting, and having lots and lots of highs.

I think generally, there was too much confusion on dosing, especially for those using IC ratios, carb counting. I use afrezza, and my last script took 2 weeks to get it right, so the pharmacist could fill it. If they could do it over, I think much more education would need to show how it is dosed much differently. Maybe new patients, starting insulin, especially T2 could have had easier startup.

I asked endo if he had other patients using, and said no, because no one asked for it like I did.

My idea would really help with this issue and here it is -

do not refer to the cartridges as “units”. We have a mental concept regarding units as a measurement for injected insulin. For some that is a sticking point in the beginning.
