# Life with diabetes analogies

Explaining life with diabetes to non-diabetic people can be hard. Analogies may be helpful to convey some of the struggles we have with maintaining our blood glucose within a healthy range. A common example of this is the airplane analogy:

Good, well I don’t have any analogies but when I was in my twenties I had a friend whose wife used to call me a Dietetic. I could have pointed her to the airplane analogy link but I fear I may have had to explain what an airplane was… 😁
Edit: @Boerenkool you beat me back. I wanted to let you know I like the airplane analogy. I am going to show it to my wife tonight 😃
