@ClaudnDaye and @Liam-M Thanks for the vid on the phenomenon! I couldn’t help but smile as I watched. You see, my wife’s name is “Dawne” (yes the e is part of her name, longer story), so the Dawne Phenomenon to me is a much different thing than it is/was to the both of you and many others. I’m fortunate I don’t experience the phenomenon like @Liam-M, but I certainly DO experience it!

This really resonates. That early stage of not even knowing what to ask is such a real experience, and having something simple and grounded could really help people starting out.

I like that you are focusing on practical day to day understanding instead of hype. Hearing both caregiver and lived experience perspectives sounds really valuable.

How are you deciding what topics to start with first?

From my own lived experiences and trying to remember which were the most valuable (and the most stressful) topics for me and my wife when Liam was first diagnosed, and we had never heard of or knew what “diabetes” was.

When I first started working on this endeavor, I spent the first week combing through my diary of frustrations (lots of 4 letter words in that diary) that I had for the first many months…making a list as I went through my diary. I also had lots of questions for and input from my wife (who remembers everything) to fill in the gaps. That ended up being the order of the list.

Your and @ClaudnDaye comments took me back to my first grocery shopping trip after dx, both T2 and again as T1. First trip had me checking every nutrition label, took us nearly 3.5 hours!
