Kim Schrier is the incoming congresswoman from Washington state’s 8th district. She also happens to have T1D and be a pediatrician.
Clearly she’s not the most high-profile politician with T1D. that would be Theresa May (who clearly is not exactly crushing it in the UK 🤣) but I do find it inspirational seeing high-profile folks with T1D out there!

It will be interesting to see if she indeed uses her platform to advance T1 causes, or if she recuses herself from anything potentially T1 related due to conflict of interest. I would hope she won’t recuse, but who knows in our current political environment.
