# Is Standard Deviation more important than average BG or Time-In-Range?

Question re: how lab a1c is calculated…

So it seems that a1c does not get effected by lows, and in fact, they are not even considered. I guess one _might_ assume a PWD has lows if there avg BGs is rather high, but their a1c is lower than what would be expected. Is that the reasoning??
