Hi everyone,
I am new in the forum. I hope I used the correct category.
Our 9year old son was diagnosed with T1 around a year ago. It has been quite a year and we are now getting used to this. I found this site now so I am glad to share and read your experiences.

So glad you are here Sergio. Many years ago I was diagnosed when 4 so know what wonderful choices my parents made. It makes such a difference.

Welcome! If you don’t mind, tell us a bit about your current D-management? Are you using an insulin pump or MDI? CGM use? What pain points are you experiencing? I remember when we were a year in and I was still an OCD wreck. I am also a software engineer by trade.
I spent the first year or two banging my head against the wall as I tried and failed many things I attempted. Then I started spending a lot of time reading all the D-related books I could get my hands on and tapping into the community (here) and the resources that already existed and my stress level (and OCD management) started to bring itself under control. Over a decade in now, I take things a lot more calmly and we do our best…still rough days because no solution we can create will result in a perfectly functioning pancreas and immune system, but I let those bad days roll off of me by and large.
@Liam-M has, for the past 6 or 7 years, maintained an A1C of between 5.7 and 6.2 with 1 to 2% low/severe lows. Again, we use the Dexcom G6 (we’ll begin using the G7’s once our supply of G6’s run dry), Omnipod Dash and Novolog. And we loop, which has made all the difference to us.
This community has been a lifeline for my family over the past decade and has made this journey so much easier and not so “alone”. We’re here to help you in any way we can!
