Well at least they haven’t figured out how to charge us for the oxygen in the waiting room yet, or the use of the chairs we occupy when the Dr’s are running +30 min late.

“Global Fee”. I think mine has. They were like, “we’re gonna start charging people for air in the waiting room. We’re gonna call it ‘air fee’”. And someone was like, “can’t do that. Someone will figure it out. Call it ‘global fee’”

I personally would be looking for a new endo - foot massage or no. That endo had better have a tapped keg in the patient rooms like the haircut places in Bend Oregon have. Otherwise… fugheddaboutit!

Ugh, do you have any other options?? Is it worth it?! Unless someone is following me around and managing my diabetes for me, I can’t imagine it being worth that much (plus other fees).

At this point in my management (thank you, FUD and @Eric), I’m only interested in paying someone to _not_ follow me around and manage my diabetes. 😁
I have no idea what this all means. I just got a letter from her office about a week and a half ago, and I haven’t had the time to follow up on it. I see her in less than a month. I like her very much as a person, but I’ve also been on the fence over a few recent prescription skirmishes (that have occurred only because of my recent growth and seeking of independence), SO… it won’t take much to send me looking. Much less than $1000. Then I’ll continue sending her messages through patient portal as a friend. 😁

Is that amount billed to your insurance, or do you have to pay some or all of it?
Seems crazy, but is also the second mention of office fee’s this week. Kind of scary.

At this point the Canadian in the forum chimes in and says - Fees for seeing and endo? I have no idea what the government pays my endo… (I know I pay higher taxes).
Actually - here is what endos in my part of the world are paid per vist… (In Canadian Dollars).

Oh absolutely, I don’t want someone telling me what to do, but if a magical diabetes fairy showed up and followed me around, managing my BGs and insulin for me so I didn’t even feel diabetic, I’d pay big bucks for that!
I hope you can keep using the portal for free, at least 😉

Then, since my family has looked in the direction of Canada in the past as a possible future residence, I’d like to ask the resident FUD Canadian what the time frames are like for getting in to see someone. Those values there are pretty unbelievable… not that I don’t _believe_ you, but it’s just insane— and it makes me wonder if there’s a trade off. Because I’ve heard there is a trade off. Should’ve started with that. 😁 If I want to see a specialist of any kind, I can reasonably expect to have an appointment or to have the process underway any time from next day to a month or two— depending on the specialty. This is really off topic, sorry— I’m just curious. I pictured moving to Canada and waiting 8 months to see a primary care physician. Not real?
And about those values. Sometimes I will ask for an itemized receipt from a hospital visit just for the laugh. (And to check it, of course). Did you know there are $900 pills of Tylenol?
