# Diabetes Research Institute?

I recently ran into the site of the [Diabetes Research Institute](https://www.diabetesresearch.org/cure-research) – it appears to be a foundation whose only mission is to find a cure for diabetes. It has a good [Charity Navigator rating](https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=3624).

I tried to do some research on it but did not come up with a huge amount of material. They appear to be raising tens of millions of dollars, and to have a special relationship with the AFL-CIO.

I am curious if anyone knows more about how good their research is, and how worthwhile?
