Counting and dosing for proteins is often call TAG for doing calcs.

Here is prior FUD topic.

> [@Do You TAG? If so, how?](https://forum.fudiabetes.org/t/do-you-tag-if-so-how/474):

> [TAG (Total Available Glucose)](http://blog.joslin.org/2012/01/should-tag-be-a-part-of-your-diabetes-meal-plan/) is a counting system that also counts protein and fat (in addition to carbs) in order to calculate bolus insulin. Do you TAG? Do you TAG every meal, or some meals? What is your formula? How well does it work for you? We do not TAG in general, but do TAG high-fat meals such as Costco Pizza :-).Without it, we go high for long periods after some very high-fat meals. I will post soon an example of a TAGging error.

There were more details on TuD, will try to find and link them. They were helpful for me.

Edit: I found TuD link, and added it to above FuD topic.
