# Can the Dexcom G6 transmitter work with the new touchscreen receiver?

Has Dexcom indicated that the G6 will only involve a change in transmitter? It would be great if they would take into account some of the many issues/suggestions that people have had with the G5 touchscreen receiver.

The new touchscreen receiver will be upgradable to use the G6 (this is based on preliminary information from dexcom).
But my guess is that they will invest very little development resources in modyfing the receiver user interface. Based on everything we have read, they are expecting 95% of the users to use the phone app, and are not planning to do much work on the receiver.

I’d never used the transmitter but I was glad to be able to push the button with mittens on… I don’t want a touch screen for my backup method.
