Are we EVER going to get an iPhone app for the Omnipod5? This has been promised for over a year, and I’m really getting tired of waiting for it. Carrying around the PDM as well as my work and personal phones is getting ridiculous. With all of the technology breakthroughs out there in the world, this seems pretty simple to me and Insulet doesn’t seem to care about the inconvenience to us. Does anyone have any new information on if/when the promised iPhone app is actually going to grace our presence?

Not sure this counts as new information, but when I did an OM5 training a few months ago, my trainer told me they had an iOS version on Long Island. Maybe there are regulatory approvals in the works? Maybe it’s time to rent an Airbnb on Long Island and get an endocrine appointment there?

Not sure if this counts as new info but insulets website says the app will begin a Limited Market Release early summer 2024. So hopefully a couple months away??

No new info here. I was on the phone recently with tech support and they don’t know anything specific about the release date.

Wow, @Josie, I thought it had be released US-wide if not World-wide! I really disliked having to carry the PDM for Dash and Dexcom, plus a phone. I did so for the briefest of times possible. I’ve resolved to take them on vacation trips as back-ups only. Another reason I’m biased against Omni 5 that I’d forgotten about! I know some don’t mind having two+ devices, but I recall in the military having to carry a relatively large multi-freq radio with beeper capability, a separate beeper (don’t ask why both, no sense to me)…it was a real drag to go to the local movie theater or try to take the family out to dinner and have all of those things go off with-in seconds of each other! Thank God it was only for a couple years and pre-T1 dx!

I wish the OP5 PDM was as lightweight as the Dash. I haven’t weighed them but the 5 feels much heavier/bulk. My fanny pack will get lighter mid October lol.

I actually miss my Dexcom receiver. It looks like a receiver will never be compatible with OP5. I found it much more reliable than my iPhone.

If anyone was waiting to upgrade to IOS 18 because of the warning from Insulet their website says the upcoming iPhone app will now work with it. It also lists iPhone 16 as compatible.

Still states end of October for predicted launch.

It really is ridiculous that half of Omnipod’s users can’t get an iPhone app after how many years of empty promises? Very very disappointing.

Never mind that this is for Omnipod 5 with Dexcom G6. I’m about to go to the G7 with Omnipod 5. How many more years before I get an app for my iPhone?

The app is available today. Just downloaded it.

It wasn’t showing up in my App Store search so I had to follow the link on Insulets website.

iPhone App Only for G6.

There was a controller update that now includes a “custom foods” resource for saving and using carb counts. Helps G7 users still stuck still using controller.
