I made the mistake, when asked how much insulin I take, of giving him my ratios and maximum insulin before I won’t take any more. I really don’t think he understood the concept.
I did get a referral to an endocrinologist, but he’s 50 miles away. I’ll see him after the Covid scare subsides.
Like with anything else, there’s good docs of all backgrounds. There are endocrinologists out there who don’t know the first thing about managing diabetes too… And internists who specialize in managing diabetes and are very good at it, and everything in between
